Hey friends!
I began my healthcare journey after having a complete spinal fusion for kyphoscoliosis at the age of 17. After my recovery I knew I wanted to help others through healthcare but I was unsure which path to take. As a first generation college student, and the first in my family to go into healthcare, I had little guidance or direction.
As a Pre- Physician Assistant I read the advice online and purchased books about the profession, but didn’t make understanding the career and how it collaborates with other professions a priority. Because of that, I was rejected by every PA school my senior year of undergrad. Now, after years of practicing medicine, I realize that I am one piece of the bigger healthcare team and ultimately the care of the patient.
When I practice medicine I can’t do it without a large multidisciplinary and collaborative team! That’s the of heart of Integrated Med Collab. With a team of clinicians from multiple disciplines we aim to help the next generation of healthcare workers become the best clinicians they can in the field that suits them! We aim to foster an environment to connect you with real practicing clinicians from different healthcare fields and help you go from where you are to where you want to be (and learn from my mistakes, HA!). Whether you call it mentorship, a networking opportunity or even a friendship, our aim is to help you realize your potential, lead you in the right direction and have you successfully granted to the school of your choice!
